Knigma is my Internet identity. It was an unremarkable Unix user id I was once allocated, and since it's vaguely pronounceable and fairly unique, it has stuck. Coincidently if you replace the K with an E it reads Enigma, which could be considered appropriate.
Anything that my family or I think of really. One day I hope to accept credit card payments, and make lots of money.
Since 1996 I've lived in the town of Biggleswade, Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom with my wife Sue. We've two children, born in 1997 and 2002.
I've worked in the field of software engineering since leaving full time education. Following 7 years at British Aerospace Space Systems in Stevenage, and 2 at Deutsche Bank in London, I'm now in my 7th year working for an IT Cryptography vendor in Cambridge.
Other than my family and work, my other passion is anything Unix, these days particularly FreeBSD. When time permits I try to contribute to the project, or else just evangelise. To this end, if you know me, and would like a shell account on a FreeBSD server, or a free CD, please do ask!
Biggleswade is a small market town approximately 40 miles North of Central London and 18 miles West South West of Cambridge. Situated on the A1 dual carriageway, Biggleswade also has a railway station on the East coast mainline. In 2001 the population of the town was approximately 15383. The river Ivel runs along the western boundary of the town.
The fastest train to London, Kings Cross, now takes 38 minutes. When I worked in London the same train only took 28 minutes. I guess that's called progress.
